I come home. He didn't see me when I walked out this morning. He looks up from the computer screen. Looks back to the computer screen. Then he says: "You are not looking like your full potential". He doesn't know I saw G this afternoon. My sweet, gay friend G who hadn't seen me in months but nontheless said before saying even hello "I thought I was meeting my ravishing, fabulous friend, but no."
